A Short Profile of BPS
Butwal Public School was established with its motto "Learning through practice" on Baisakh in the year 2059 BS. The School was established by Mr. Hemlal Sharma as the Founder Chairman and Mrs. Meera Sharma (Founder Principal), including Mr. Bishnu Bashyal, Mrs. Premkala Belbase, and Mrs. Tejinder Verma as the founding teachers. The first student to join BPS was Susmita Poudel in Class-1. The school initially had only 22 students up to class-1 in its first year, 2059 BS. It was run in a rented building.
The school was later shifted to its own building at Shankarnagar -8. There were 125 students up to class-V in 2060 BS. The unique design of the building, along with its infrastructure and quality education, has been highly appraised by all.
Since 2060 BS, the school has been organizing various Teacher's Training programmes with different National & International Professional Trainers, including Mr. J.R. Praser from India, Mr. Devi Lal Joshi from Budhanilkantha School, Kathmandu, and currently Mr. Parshuram Niraula from the National Teachers Training Centre, Kathmandu.
The school has already organized two National and numerous Regional and Local level programmes since its establishment. It organized the BPS National Education Mahotsav-2063 and the BPS 20-20 National Cricket Cup-2064, where Mr. Balananda Paudel, Secretary to the Ministry of Education, and Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Secretary to the Council of Development for Sports, respectively, were the chief guests. The School celebrated a decade of its Anniversary in 2068 B.S. The school is introducing the GCA A-level programme in association with the University of Cambridge, UK, for the first time in the Lumbini Zone.
